Erg Chegaga are the highest dunes in all of Morocco. They are less visited than Merzouga, and often more quiet and peaceful. Your desert camp sits right between two large sand dunes, with options of standard camp or luxury camp. Ample views of the milky way.

This tour can be done in either 4 or 5 days. 

Day 1: Marrakech to Skoura to Dades Valley Gorges

Day 2: Boulmalne Dades to Djebel Saghro to Zagora

Day 3: Tamgroute to M'Hamid to Erg Chegaga Dunes

Day 4: Tamnougalte to Ouarzazate

Day 5: Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou to Telouet - back to Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech - Skoura - Dades Gorges

Departure in a 4x4 to Demnate, a Berber village renowned for its natural bridge Imi-n-Ifri and dinosaur footprints. The road then crosses the High Atlas mountains to reach the Skoura palm grove and its magnificent kasbahs, then on to the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight stay in a typical inn.

Day 2: Boumalne - Djebel Saghro - Zagora

From Boumalne, you cross the Djebel Saghro, a wild volcanic massif and a nomadic area of the Ait Atta shepherd tribe. Arrival in N'Kob, the city of 45 kasbahs, before reaching the Draa Valley, which you follow until Zagora. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Tamgroute - M'Hamid – Erg chigaga

After visiting the souk of Zagora, you head to the village of Tamgroute to discover its zaouia, Quranic library, and traditional pottery workshops. In M'Hamid, the road ends, and you are at the gates of the desert. A camel ride will allow you to admire the sunset before dinner and spending the night in a nomad tent at the foot of the dunes of Erg Chegaga.

Day 4: Tamnougalte - Ouarzazate

Departure for Tamnougalte, an ancient caravan stop and a beautiful village with pisé architecture and inner courtyards. Lunch with a panoramic view of the palm grove, the kasbah, and the Draa Valley before continuing to Ouarzazate. After Agdz, you cross the lunar and barren landscapes with strange rock formations of the Tizi n' Tinififft pass. Arrival in Ouarzazate to visit the film studios.

Day 5: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Telouet – Marrakech

After visiting the Ait Ben Haddou ksar, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the filming location of many movies, you take the ancient caravan route to reach the Telouet kasbah and then the Tizi-n-Tichka pass through magnificent mountain landscapes. Arrival in Marrakech by the end of the day.

*You can edit this tour to Erg Chegaga to be 3, 4, or 5 days. 

The 3 day option is possible but very rushed.
